Dredg - El Cielo

Words can't express how much this album has hit me over the years. Its such elegantly structured alternative rock/metal. That term doesn't do it justice. Generic rock bands simply can't produce the diversity and power on display across the 16 tracks here. Whilst it does have beautiful passages and interludes, the melancholia that oozes off these tracks have left me floored on numerous occasions. There's a few nods to a more melodic, introspective Tool at times, which obviously isn't a bad thing.
